So recently I have been watching a ton of anime, mostly pokemon and shingeki no kyojin. I was wondering what you guys liked and for what reasons.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica (great story, very emotional and dark, just excellent all around)
Cowboy Bebop (the epitome of episodic anime and a classic)
Princess Mononoke (in my opinion it's Miyazaki's best film, great animation, great story)
BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad (it's about music specifically rock and I love music plus it's actually a great story)
One Piece (because it's awesome)
Bleach (great animation, I wish they would animate the current arc that is going on in the manga considering it is the last of the entire series)
A bunch more I can't think of.

@ReservoirDog: I have been recommended to watch cowboy bepop and bleach. But what is princess mononoke?

ReservoirDog
@Savis117: Princess Mononoke is an anime movie, it's really good.
Look it up on google, you can watch it online.
Chenzo ( ͡° ͜ʖ
@Chenzo:
I had written a whole paragraph but an ampersand must've been sucked through the engine or something because my post got fucked.
I was going to say...
Cowboy Bebop: Great story/characters/animation/everything
K-On!/!!: SORE WA HIJOU NI KAWAIIDESU
Gurren Lagann: Great animation, starts off strong. Also, big-ass robits.
Steins;Gate: Great characters, an interesting take on the concept of time travel.

I hear "To Aru Majutsu No Index" Is really good aswell, but I dont want to take advice from my friend who has only watched that on his anime list. Is it any good?

Menotu33
Code Geas because of the character development (Think Deathnote )
Cowboy bebop for the characters and the story in general. Just fucking YES
Samurai Champloo because it's by the same person that wrote cowboy bebop and the fighting is just fucking brilliant
Sword art Online for the first season the idea was fucking wicked.
Full Metal Achemist: BrotherHood because it keeps with the original story line, fights are fucking badass and the world is like ours-ish.
Bleach STOP AFTER THE HEUCCO MUNDO/INCHIGO'S HOME TOWN FIGHT CAUSE THE REST IS SHIT
I'm not really partial to this movie but Apparenly Akira is good. I didn't like it but it had some good story elements.

I've been watching Gosick recently, fucking great so far. They really nailed the Sherlockian approach and it has, in my opinion, one of the best EDs I've ever seen.
But, now, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Boku no Pico continues to be a masterpiece, even after all these years. Incredible narrative.
ADashofRainbow
If you couldn't tell, I really like Baka and Test. (it's super funny and emotional at times)
other really good ones are:
Seitokai Yakuindomo, funniest anime ever
Shingeki No Kyojin, cool action and the universe is interesting
Log Horizon, fantastic story and characters
ADashofRainbow
@TheXRayFactor:
is that when SYD season 2 comes out?
@ReservoirDog:
no but I want to, I've heard good things about it.

I've been meaning to watch Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei for a while now, it seems to be really interesting. And because Shaft.
LaughingMan9
I've been meaning to catch up on Attack on Titan. I've seen a lot of stuff but the most underrated thing that I've never seen anyone post about is the anime based on the game Gungrave. Two young street rats get roped into the mafia and each advance through the ranks by different means, takes you through 40 years of their life and hardships. The 'based on the game' part comes in toward the end but its all well established and makes sense with character motivations.

@TheXRayFactor: When ever someone says Evangelion, I must post this.
I'm sorry.

Insanity_Trials Whisper Kick

I'm definitely not joking and it certainly doesn't give reasons for the watcher to cry like a little bitch

By the way, watch Hyouka, you fuck. Apparently the producers were spying on me for about 4 years, because holy shit, the main character is pretty much a nipponese version of myself

I'm in love with a certain scientific rail gun, just the world they establish is so fuckin awesome and then there is the kick ass story's and characters, man that show kicks ass

@Jakalarf:Brotherhood follows the story of the manga, wich is a million times better than the original which kinda just seemed like a love story at the end for me

bubblejuice kose mochen
Welcome To the N.H.K- Story follows Satao, a college drop out who is afraid to go out in public and secluded himself in his home, until he meets a mysterious girl who says she can cure him of his problem. This show is a story about love, failure, depression. It's a hilarious psychological take on modern Japanese culture and I recommend it to everyone who hasn't seen it yet.
BreadWolf Weinerlord
Clannad, it made me feel things.
I could just list a fuckton of anime and talk about them, but nobody wants that.
