The Conjuring was pretty good. The Ring fucked me up as a 6 year old, didnt watch another horror movie until i was 12, which was the first Saw. I haven't seen a whole bunch else.

i've only seen dumb horror movies; Freddie vs Jason, Insidious and paranormal activity. I didn't find any of them very good or scary.
the Birds is stellar though Hitchcock is a genius

Evil Dead both the original and the remake in my opinion are good horror movies. Also Dawn of the Dead both the original and the remake. the ring(Japanese version)

and the Friday the 13th movies, all of them, i don't even care that Jason survives being drowned as a kid and dying several other ways in 9 other movies on top of going to Manhattan, Hell, and somehow being the only thing left alive on earth after its destroyed and then going up into SPACE and becoming a CYBORG. he also fought Freddy Kruger, but not in space, that would be too much awesome.
