@absolutezilch: I met the lovely lady at the GSA (gay straight alliance) at my school. Fairly ironic but still, we both kinda helped eachother find our identity and have since been extremely happy.

You had no problem with the labels "gay" or "straight", but now that it's "bisexual" you suddenly have a problem with labels. Typical. There's always this stigma about bisexuality, even among gays and lesbians. The worst part is that everyone always refuses to acknowledge it.

@absolutezilch: Never said it's not ok, just that when things too serious on chat (through my experiences anyway) one of 2 things happen: It get's WAY out of hand, or it ruins a thread (unless the thread is for serious discussion). No problems with being serious though, as long as the thread still serves it's purpose.

@oilfire30: True but the way I see it, it's not really anyone's place here besides Mike to play moderator. If CHAT really is an excursion for people to vent and argue, then intervening is either:
a) futile;
b) counter-productive to the venting process.
Sure, you can save someone from getting emotionally hurt but in my head, opinions on the internet are like pointless similes. You can usually shrug 'em off without giving it a second thought or just not come to the place that hurts you so much I guess. I imagine that's why so many people left CHAT.
Besides, I don't think people here care much for the 'sanctity' of threads. Derailment is fun; I've done plenty of it here on CHAT. The topic usually restores itself if people care about it.

Also, Shannon left on her own accord. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I think it was after cannonofdoom gave her a dose of reality that she left CHAT, Some people are more inclined to be serious, she didn't like that and left on her own accord and I think that should totally be OK. But I suppose as much as they have a right to talk about serious shit, you all have the right to try and shut them up so I guess my overall point is moot.
