If anyone who has played Halo 5 and read this, can you tell me if this is true? I've been saving up for a XbOne and this was at the top of my list, but if this is the case maybe not. Emphasis on the strafing gameplay part, that's why I loved Halo and still can't deal with CoD.

The gameplay is awesome and feels like Halo. I thought that the story, characters, and the early environments were a little boring, and the story and levels didn't get interesting until the later half of the campaign.
The multiplayer might be my favourite Halo multiplayer.

The game looks great, the gameplay is fun, and the multiplayer is awesome! The campaign is honestly a big disappointment. The story itself goes nowhere, the one and only boss is annoying and pretty tough to beat (especially if you plan to solo it and depend on the AI, which they aren't a big help at all), and out 15 missions in total you only play as the Master Chief 3 times, which is dumb. That's my opinion.

I think everything this article says is true, but if you play the campaign with one or more friends you won't even notice or care. It's a TON of fun with friends, and THAT'S what Halo has always really been about. Plus, Nathan Fillion. Everything is forgivable when Nathan Fillions.

This is the first Halo that I haven't been able to play in a while. I don't know whether to get an Xbox One yet. I'm so conflicted.

I haven't played it but it looks like shit. The multiplayer is seems fun, but everything else looks like utter crap. Personally I'd get a PS4 and Bloodborne, but that's me being a Souls fanboy and PC gamer.

@simsoy: I have a PS4 already. My gf wants to get Bloodbourne, but I think the difficulty is probably too high for her.

This article misses a few things and is way too critical, but what else did you expect from Kotaku. The multiplayer is great. The campaign isn't as good as Reach or ODST but is way better than 4. If you're looking for a multiplayer shooter then this is a great decision. If you're looking for an amazing campaign then it is there are better options like Wolfenstein: The new order. But as for buying an Xbone, I'd say that Halo 5, Killer Instinct, and Rare Replay make it a worthwhile purchase.

@Neal: Not to mention upcoming list that seems promising.
Particularly excited to see how Cuphead and Scalebound turn out to be.
